a floral situation.

Top: F21.com / Skirt: F21 via eBay / Bag: Ideeli /
Belt: F21.com / Earrings: F21 / Scarf: Thrifted

I got home today, just after Justin left for scouts to find that the sweet man was half way through cleaning the bathroom. Now I'll never complain when my man wants to clean the bathroom (I realize how extremely lucky I am to have a guy who helps out so much around the house), but he was using some pretty harsh chemicals/bleach (this guy don't mess around yo. He cleans like he is cleaning up after a crime, which I suppose since it is the bathroom, is somewhat appropriate).

Anyhow, I immediately started getting loopy and a bit of a headache, so I ran to the bathroom and closed the place up, but I am now in a bit of a dilemma. Being pregnant, and not liking to do my business in public restrooms (I'm a freak I know it), the situation here is now getting desperate (trust me, the chemicals are realllllllly strong).

So I am left with three options:

1. Go ask the neighbor if I can use their toilet (I value our friendship waay too much to put it through something like that)

2. Wait 20 more minutes for Justin to get home (I think we all know that the probability that I'll make it that long is pretty bleak) ooor

3. Put a bag over my head, hold my breath, and move really really fast

I think number three might be our best option. Maybe I'll skip washing my hands to save time.
(Should go without saying, but I hope you all know that I'm just kidding. Mostly).

magic.

Tunic: via Ideeli / Leggins: gifted / Flats: Penny Loves Kenny via eBay
Scarf: thrifted / Belt: Express via eBay
Here are couple photos from this weekend (thanks to justin's instagram!). Justin's cousin Jeff graduated this semester (yay jeff!) and lucky for him, he is married to a much more crafty lady than I am (remember emilee?), and she put together an amazingly beautiful little party for him! (Justin is lucky if I put up streamers :)

Seriously though, our backyard was transformed into a magical wonderland. More pictures to come. Justin helped hang lights while the puppies and I chilled outside. Then I did a little sewing and relaxed all Sunday. Seriously so nice. I think Justin is still a bit lost without hours of homework to do, but I'm LOVING it!

stripe love & trash day?

Striped dress $14 via eBay / vintage belt via eBay here / Thrifted briefcase $5 here /
Vintage silk scarf $3 via eBay more here / Tights $4 via Kohls / Steve Madden boots $20 via eBay
Can we talk for just a minute about vertical stripes?! I feel like there has been all this hub bub lately about their more popular cousin, the horizontal stripe, that poor vertical stripe has gotten the ugly stepsister treatment.

Not that horizontal stripes aren't lovely (clearly I'm a big fan), but honestly, they can be more difficult to pull off, while vertical stripes are much more universally flattering.

Just saying. Let's have some vertical stripe love shall we?

And what are everyone's thoughts on these boots? They are a challenge piece for me. I haven't worn them hardly at all, because I find that high heeled boots are actually much harder for me to wear/style. So what are your thoughts?

Keep, or "take out the trash?" You can vote below!

A conversation from this weekend:

Me:
"I like the rain, it makes me feel moody."

"That's not good, its suppose to make you feel cozy."

Me:
"Yeah, but sometimes I like feeling moody."

Justin:
"Yeah, but think about the others around you"

Me:
"I'm writing that down."

Justin:
"I'm never safe."

these boots were made for walking...

...or more like these clothes were meant for packing. But there's not a saying for that.

Do you guys ever have a hard time packing for trips? I always hated getting to destinations and pulling out wrinkly close. Partly because wrinkles are the poo's but mostly because I hate ironing.

The solution?

Roll, don't fold. Not only will it save you space, it will keep your clothes from getting wrinkly. Knits work especially well. They may not turn out perfect, but you can definitely get away without the iron.

I loved not having to iron these dresses on our last trips. And apparently red is my traveling color.

seeing red.

striped blouse via eBay $8
Red pleated skirt - had it since high school
Leather express belt via eBay $3
Anthro shoes via eBay
Silk scarf worn as turban via eBay - $3
This will be a short post because sometimes (meaning as I'm writing this), Roxy decides that I should be playing with her. Period. So she'll grab a tennis ball (that barely fits in her little mouth I might add) and drops it on my keyboard until I stop typing and play with her. A girl after my own heart I tell ya!

I love dressing all in one color (black, and blue) and red is one of my absolute favorites! Add a turban, and you have an outfit that every man over 60 will roll his eyes at! Yay!

Shellsea over at "Love Shellsea" is very busy this week moving in to a new space, so I was lucky enough to get to do a guest post for her while she gets settled in. Catch me gabbing about belts and lipstick HERE!

Speaking of blog writing, have you guys ever been to the rodeo and seen the event when they try to catch the little calf and tie its feet as fast as they can and shoot their arms out to side as soon as they finish? I've realized it's alarmingly similar to how I write a post. I click the last key and shoot my hands out to the side, and shout "DONE" at the top of my lungs, then wait for Justin to clap, or congratulate me for how fast I've done it. :) Seriously though, I get such a feeling of accomplishment when I'm done, and I don't even need a horse. So there cowboy. So there.

It case you had any doubts that I'm a little weird, this picture should put those to rest.

This is what happens when you try to take outfit pics and talk to your neighbor at the same time.
