die car die.

Shoes: Frye via 6pm.com here / Top: Thrifted / Dress: F21 / Bag: Thrifted /
Belt: Asos, came with this skirt / Earrings: F21
I'm so sick of car problems. I feel like our cars have sucked at least eight years out of our life. I can't believe how much it is to fix these stupid things. Will someone just invent teleporting already?

Ok thanks.

Justin just gave me the great news that his car will be 1k+ to fix. And were we just dropped that much on my car, and have a baby coming in a month (and I would like to be able to take some time off), that just 'ain't gonna happen'.

It is hard too, because early in our marriage, Justin fancied himself quite the race car driver, and really put his car through the ringer, so in times like these, when you really need to come together, it can sometimes be easy to point fingers and get upset with each other.

I'm sure there is some very important lesson for me to learn in all of this, and with all the fires round these parts, I suppose I should just be grateful we have a car to drive, that isn't burnt to the ground.

But maybe then, insurance would cover it...

...I think I look a lot like my mom in these pics. So at least that's nice.

though they may make you look rounder...

Top: JCrew sale, $14 /  Pants: F21.com, $6 / Shoes: Steve Madden via eBay /
Necklace: 6pm.com / Belt: Express via eBay
Hey, remember this top from way back when before I had a belly the size of a kickball? Well turns out it also meets my two main criteria for getting dressed these days. Plus, I'm not too worried about stretching it out, as I could have fit a whole other person inside of it before I was pregnant (which is basically what I'm doing now right?).

And can I just say, I that while I know there are a lot of pregnant women out there who seem to be able to get by still wearing super low-cut jeans instead of maternity jeans, it still completely baffles me. I was lucky to nab these babies from F21.com for 6 bucks, but I can't imagine how uncomfortable it would be to wear regular jeans when you are pregnant.

Even before I was pregnant, if I had even a slight hint, or suggestion of "hangover" with a pair of pants, I couldn't wear them. And although I realize that there is a very big difference between jiggly hangover, and baby hangover, I still can't get myself to be OK with it. All those speeches from mom about wearing clothes that fit must have really done a number on me.

back to school & keepin it cool.

striped top - thrfted
pleated skirt - thrifted
vintage belt - thrifted
necklace - handmade by ME!
suede wedges via eBay
So today is Justin's first day of school for the fall semester, and can I just say, this is the first time in living memory that I have not been going back to school.

I'm seriously having an out-of-body experience. I think I'm in denial.

I love sitting in a class for the first time, going over the course topics. Cracking open a book that still has that new book smell. You know what I mean; the smell of knowledge that only comes from a new textbook, you almost can feel yourself getting smarter just by smelling the thing.

Ok, maybe not. But still.
I love learning. I think I'm going to miss school.

-Heather

ps. Can I just tell you how much I am loving pleats?! SO MUCH? (I only yell at you viraly when it is really, really true)

Don't forget, today is the last day to ENTER THE GIVEAWAY. (goodness, so much shouting going on in this post)

I get feelings.

Today I've been feeling a little bit like this...

see, Justin is hiding in the closet from my grumpiness.
Then I took a quick jaunty (is that even a word or did I make it up?) over to Gentri Lee's blog, were she gave me a lovely little feature this week, and began to feel like this...

can you see a smile coming on?
Then I continued to read all of the sweet little comments left for me there, and I slowly started feeling more and more like this...

and this...

lace JCrew tshirt via sale $11
DC Jeans gift
Frye sandals via eBay $20
and this...

and now my feet can do a happy dance!

Thanks for all the love my lovely friends, you honestly have made my day!

-Heather

Have you guys ever met Gentri Lee? She is so happy, lovely and delightfully authentic! I'm so flattered to have received her blogger of the week award! You can check out my guest post on her blog here!

sympathy pains.

JCrew blouse via sale $14
F21 vest via eBay $5
Jean ruffle skirt via eBay $11
Alfani heels via eBay $20
Hey folks! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Mine was SERIOUSLY AMAZING! I'm very excited to tell you all about it later this week! I got to go to an amazing retreat for the Utah Bloggers Meetup and then spend the rest of the weekend with Justin's wonderful family!

I've realized a strange and disturbing thing about myself; I feel sympathy pains in my booty. Whenever I hear a painful story, or or see someone get hurt in a movie, I get butt tingles. Weirdest thing, because I am fairly certain people don't have pain centers in the butt.
Except maybe for me.
Which means I'm a mutant.
Does that make me an X-Man?
I really, really hope so.

-Heather

Bum shot! no tingles here!
These are actually the first shoes I ever bought on eBay, and they are still Justin's favorite!

a clean lens is so over-rated.

Ralph Lauren vintage top thrifted $2
Anthropologie pants via eBay - $10
Juicy Couture sandals via eBay - $20
So we've decided that we prefer our lenses to be spotty here at the Luczak house. Adds a bit of excitement to the picture don't you think? Bet you thought that little speck was a fairy didn't you? Sorry to disappoint. Just a speck of dust. As common as well, dust. This post is just riveting isn't it? All this talk of dust puts me in the mood for cleaning...or brushing my teeth, whichever comes first!

sleep well friends!

-Heather

This outfit reminds me of my sister Shauntae. Comfy, easy to wear, and with just a hint of country. My favorite kind.

I am a Natural Beauty.

Look mom, no makeup, except for my favorite shade of bright pink lipstick!

Things have been so so crazy lately, I haven't had a chance to do a Natural Beauty Post for a while, which is such a shame, as there are already three other lovely natural beauties!

Did you know that there are support websites that promote the maintaining anorexia and bulimia in a "healthy" way. Aside from the fact that there is no way that either can ever be good for the body, these kind of cites illustrate how warped and distorted society's view of "beauty" really is. It has created in the mind of all of us, to some degree, an unhealthy, unobtainable beauty "ideal". I hope that we all can avoid judgment and offer appropriate and kind support to anyone who we know who may struggle with either of these frightening disorders.

I hope you will also join with me in promoting natural health, and realistic beauty! I am 24, I weigh 145 pounds, and I love every one of them. I am beautiful, and healthy. I try to take care of the wonderful gift which is my body by exercising regularly, and I love and value my body for what it is!

If you post once or more a month about natural beauty, put my button up on your sidebar, and shoot me an email so I can add you to our list! Hopefully I'll be able to get a regular link up soon!

more than Miley? Never.

Blouse via swap Free dollars
F21 pants turned shorts via eBay $5
Miley Cyrus brand sneakers via Walmart $5
So I know that I've styled an outfit similar to this before, but I wanted something festive for the fourth yesterday, and what is more patriotic then a red and blue and white striped get up that looks like you are about to go to work for the railroad, styled with Miley Cyrus leopard print sneakers? That's right, absolutely nothing. Unless they had been Taylor Swift sneakers. Then, maybe.

-Heather

ps. I've totally been dropping the ball on eBay lately. Just too distracted I guess. I've totally let 2 anthro dresses slip from my fingers for less than 20 bucks!!! Drat!

Justin, lookin all sexy with his smile and stuff.

Us, all ready for some awesome sauce celebrating!

(is that a word? I know that there is one close to it though - I love having a blog. I can use words that might not even be real, and no one can stop me! muwahaha! oh the freedom!)
and gloomy day in the magical world of happy valley Utah today.

It's made me realize how much I miss great big Texas thunderstorms.
Everything is bigger in Texas. Or at least the thunder storms are.
And the trucks.
Definitely the trucks
(I finally learned how to spell definitely. aren't you all so proud of me?)

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS!

I seem to have a peeping problem don't I?
JCrew top via swap -  FREE! - my favorite itemt! it was actually my friend Julie's, we decided we need to "swap more often"
Vintage belt via eBay - $4
Prairie skirt via Soel swap - $2!!

I am totally jazzed right now. Solely because I am listening to one of my favorite songs of all time, and it totally gets me pumped. I'm am totally blasting it, interpretive dancing, and playing air guitar with the keyboard. I just thought you should all know... I got soul, but I'm not a solider, i got soul but i'm not a solider  I GOT SOUL BUT I'M NOT A SOLDIER! YEAHHH!

(side note, I spent about ten minutes fixing all the spelling errors created from trying to type and air guitar at the same time. Note to self; don't type while indulging in music euphoria)

Oh killers, I love you so much. I actually wrote an acoustic version of this song I might have to share sometime. :) I'm listening to my favorite grooveshark playlist, so of course I'm completely senseless right now, so I thank you all for endulging me, but hey, its my blog right? Also it makes me feel a little better about the huge stain I got on my beautiful WHITE maxi skirt. We all need a pick me up sometimes right?

Basking in musical nirvana,

-Heather

ps. sorry for the excess of photos in the post, but I was actually really happy with how this outfit turned out post sad sad stain, and Justin did such an amazing job shooting it! I felt like a prairie princess! Does anyone even wear prairie skirts anymore? Better question, do I even care? Obviously not!
