Occasionally, I'll come across a picture like the one above, where I think that I really look a lot like my mother.

And I don't mind it one bit.

falling into fall...

Some people prefer to jump into fall full force. I personally prefer to ease into it, bit by bit.

summer lovin

These long summer days are really the best aren't they? We've been having a really hard time putting little j down to bed on time because we just want to spend every evening outside enjoying the fresh air.

His grandparents got him a little motorized four-wheeler that he calls his moco-ize (motorcycle, you'll never hear me correct it, I'm holding on to this baby language as long humanly possible), and we've been watching him ride it around the backyard every evening.

I've decided to slow down with photography a little bit; I'll only be accepting 2-3 jobs a month. I want a little more time to enjoy my family use our weekends for special outings with just us. I love my clients and am so grateful for them, and hope we'll still be able to meet the needs of those that come to us.

I scored this sweatshirt on Brickyard Buffalo a few months ago for $16 bucks. If you haven't checked Brickyard Buffalo, they are an awesome sample sale site. I love that they offer so many lovely hand made items. Check them out if you haven't yet.

We're doing well at the Luczak house. Spring is in the air, and Japser started saying the words Luczak & Jesus, so we pretty much couldn't ask for anything more.

I dare you to find an outfit more comfortable than this. That's right. DARE. The gauntlet has been tossed. That is how comfortable I am in proclaiming that this outfit can transition from the playground to your bed with very little effort (or the other way around if you are more like me).

Because we all like to feel like we are wearing pajamas sometime. :)

a girl named silence.

Life has been more than a little insane recently. Since October, I went back full time, and then back to 3/4 time at work, got unexpected new responsibilities at church & work, fell waaay behind in editing client pictures, aaand this weekend, genius that I am, managed to stick my finger in a hand blender.

These, and many other little factors have contributed to my radio silence over the last month and a half. Now that some of those are a bit more under control, hopefully life may return to some kind of normalcy, whatever that means. :) How is everyone else surviving the new year?

so maybe we can put that discussion to rest?

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. Ours was amazing. We caught up on our favorite shows & some much needed cleaning, did a photo shoot with an adorable little family, spent time with my in-laws & found an amazing new Thai restaurant!

Its almost sad to see it over, but we have some really exciting shoots scheduled for this week, so it kind of makes up for it. :)

When I got j and I dressed last week, I inadvertently put us both in camo. Something about the fall. It just feels like a camo time of year doesn't it?

Camo is also a good precaution for the apocalypse. Fits right into my plan of hiding in the wild to avoid trouble. Though there isn't much wild wild, around our home, so I think a big tree, or these drapey vines would have to suffice.

Always a good idea to be prepared. :)

colds...

what feel like a hundred mornings ago, the little guy & I woke up with red eyes and shamelessly runny noses. it is like the cold that will never end.

Jasper has enjoyed my weakened state and the resulting slacking of the "no tv" rule. I know the entire opening sequence to "Dinosaur Train" by heart. This morning, I woke up and felt normal...er, so I think we are on the mend! just in time for the weekend!

Speaking of which, i woke up this morning, SUPER excited that is was Friday, and then I remembered that is was Tuesday, and I got really sad. Then I remembered that it actually was Friday, and I got excited again. Clear sign that this cold is still addling my brain.

by the way, anyone have any secrets for getting little ones to drink water? I don't know if it is the cups I have him using or what, but he just is having none of it. any tips are welcome.
