trash day?

Anthropologie blouse via eBay $5
Vintage striped tshirt via eBay $3
DC jeans - gifted
Steve Madden wedges via eBay $11
So, I’ve decided to try wearing some “challenge pieces”, which are basically pieces that have been in my closet for months and months without being worn. Sooooo, I’m going to do my best to style said pieces, and then I want your opinion!

Today’s “challenge piece" is this sheer floral blouse...

So, is it keeper, or should I “take out the trash” (or pass it along to someone who can style it better than me)?

Personally I’m voting keeper; I can’t believe I have hardly worn this, slash, I'm very proud of myself for wearing black and blue together. But, that is just my opinion.

What do you lovely ladies think?

tamales.

Like how Roxy's bum made an appearance in this one? :)
This post has nothing to do with tamales. I just kind of want one right now. So I thought I'd try and spread the craving.

My little sisters are here for the weekend! I love having my sisters here! They laugh so much, and just make everything more fun! We went to the tumble gym tonight, and it was awesome, thought the camera was dead so I'll have to paint a picture for you:

Me,
Big Hair,
Flailing in a foam pit.

Yup. Pretty much sums it up.

And a bit of smile randomness: Presenting, 'Bless his little heart'. I've been loving funny animal videos lately.

more than Miley? Never.

Blouse via swap Free dollars
F21 pants turned shorts via eBay $5
Miley Cyrus brand sneakers via Walmart $5
So I know that I've styled an outfit similar to this before, but I wanted something festive for the fourth yesterday, and what is more patriotic then a red and blue and white striped get up that looks like you are about to go to work for the railroad, styled with Miley Cyrus leopard print sneakers? That's right, absolutely nothing. Unless they had been Taylor Swift sneakers. Then, maybe.

-Heather

ps. I've totally been dropping the ball on eBay lately. Just too distracted I guess. I've totally let 2 anthro dresses slip from my fingers for less than 20 bucks!!! Drat!

Justin, lookin all sexy with his smile and stuff.

Us, all ready for some awesome sauce celebrating!

Vintage belt via eBay - $4
Prairie skirt via Soel swap - $2!!

I am totally jazzed right now. Solely because I am listening to one of my favorite songs of all time, and it totally gets me pumped. I'm am totally blasting it, interpretive dancing, and playing air guitar with the keyboard. I just thought you should all know... I got soul, but I'm not a solider, i got soul but i'm not a solider  I GOT SOUL BUT I'M NOT A SOLDIER! YEAHHH!

(side note, I spent about ten minutes fixing all the spelling errors created from trying to type and air guitar at the same time. Note to self; don't type while indulging in music euphoria)

Oh killers, I love you so much. I actually wrote an acoustic version of this song I might have to share sometime. :) I'm listening to my favorite grooveshark playlist, so of course I'm completely senseless right now, so I thank you all for endulging me, but hey, its my blog right? Also it makes me feel a little better about the huge stain I got on my beautiful WHITE maxi skirt. We all need a pick me up sometimes right?

Basking in musical nirvana,

-Heather

ps. sorry for the excess of photos in the post, but I was actually really happy with how this outfit turned out post sad sad stain, and Justin did such an amazing job shooting it! I felt like a prairie princess! Does anyone even wear prairie skirts anymore? Better question, do I even care? Obviously not!

on my mind of late...

Skirt via eBay - $10
T-shirt from F21 - $2.50
Cardigan via VS sale - $10
DC shoes - gift from my hip brother-in-law

The parking lot is a very dangerous place to be at the end of the work day. It’s kill or be killed come 4:30.

Those stupid things you put up in your windshield to block the sun are stupid. Not only did I put it on backwards, reflective side in, making my car HOTTER when I got in, but I couldn’t get the dang thing folded back up. Now it rests in a heap in my back seat. I swear it’s plotting against me.

My readers are ha-stinking-larious. Seriously. I can smell you all from here.

Guest posting and being featured makes me do a happy dance! Check me out on Write it in Lipstick!

I kind of love it when people think my outfits are crazy and say something like “Well you just dress very creatively don’t you” or Justin saying “Wow, your wearing a napkin, how unique!”  Makes me smile every time. You have to realize your non-compliments will only make me more set in my crazy ways.

Boob sweats. Gross, and abundant in the summer time. Sad face.

How much I love having family nearby.  I seriously have to stop myself from calling them every day and begging them to hang out with me. “I’m cool guys! I’m COOL!!!!!!” (insert crazy face here).

How badly I want some caramel popcorn. So. Ridiculously. Bad.

Happy Thursday my special friends! I really like you all!

-Heather

You totally want me as your neighbor, don't you?
