I flossed really hard this morning...

And it kinda hurt.

Remember that little rant I had last week about embracing your natural beauty? Well I’ve decided that I want to continue that by doing a post every week about natural beauty. The idea is that at least once a week, I will do a post where I only wear only one item of makeup (or none, depending on how I'm feeling). Today is the first one. I got up this morning, washed my face, put on moisturizer and lipstick, and I was set to go! How liberating is that!?!

I really think that the general standard for beauty in our society is really damaging. Even among the blogging community, who are the epitome of honestly in the fashion world, a lot of the blogs that do really well, are written by sweet darling girls that 99.9% of girls in America will never look like, nor should. So. Here is to us girls of all shapes and sizes. I'm a 140 pound, healthy, happy girl who doesn't need makeup to be beautiful. Doesn't that just make your heart sing?

So I'll be posting an "I'm a natural Beauty" post every, and talking about healthy body image. I'm thinking about making it into a weekly link back post where others can join me in shedding their masks if anyone is interested. Which you should be. Because we can change the world gals. So grab a button, and spread the word.

Ps. I created a link page! Check it out here and lets get linked up!

I love that idea! You are beautiful - inside and out. As far as natural beauty goes, you may want to check out operationbeautiful.com I think it coincides really well with this post :)

Ooh I LOVE purple on you, and that lace top is so pretty :D
And so true! You don't need to be skinny to be beautiful, you just have to be yourself :)

That's actually a really, really good idea! I have no problem going places without a speck of make up on, but if I look nice and I'm only wearing one type of make up, I think I would be really self-conscious.

I love so many things about this blog! One, your lace shirt is beautiful. Two, you are very right about natural beauty. So many girls hurt themselves, have damaged self-esteem and do all sorts of unhealthy things because of what society deems "beautiful." And last, I love your short curly hair! Mine isn't as short, but I too have curly hair.

i love it!!! this title caught my eye in your side bar and i'm sooo glad that i clicked it. i rarely wear makeup anymore...((who has time when all i do is chase my toddler :P )) appearance is sooo overrated, isn't it? sometimes i feel self-conscious when around all the other "designer moms"... but then i remember that God made me ME, perfect. if it's okay with you, i'd like to do a post on this topic in the future. i'll put a link back to this post. also gonna snag your button for my sidebar... xx a new friend, andiejaye
