The story of how this giveaway came about is actually really sweet, so for those of you innterested keep reading!

The Story: Giving Cade the Surprise of His Life and Why They Chose Davis Vision
I'm still amazed that Carrian of Oh Sweet Basil was able to keep the secret so well. Here husband, Cade, had been dying to have LASIK for years, but the price tag prevented them from taking the leap.

After a little bit of research, Carrian decided that Davis Vision was be the best place to trust her hubby's eyesight to. Once she had made that decision, she started to go about putting together the best surprise Father's Day present Cade would ever get & this amazing giveaway you all have the opportunity to participate in!

So, Kyle, the marketing man behind Davis Vision & Carrian thought that a really cool way to kick of this giveaway would be to invite all the participating bloggers to Davis Vision to see  Cade get the exciting news & watch the procedure.

Carrian had been sneakily hiding away Cade's contacts for a few weeks (you can't wear them for a week before the procedure), and told him that they would be going to a 1800 Contacts event where he would be getting a year supply of contacts to get him to the surveying, and to prevent him from buying more.

Sneaky sneaky Carrian.

Cade was so surprised to learn after get a tour of the office that HE would actually be getting LASIK, that night. It was so so very sweet.

I loved having the opportunity to visit the office and talk with Dr. Davis and their staff. Everyone was so kind and accommodating, and made us all feel welcome right away!

Here are some of the things I learned while chatting with Dr. Davis and his staff:
  1. Dr. Davis has performed over 25,000 vision correction procedures
  2. Every person has seen an improvement in vision.
  3. Advanced Blade Free LASIK can have outcomes as good as 20/15
  4. Dr. Davis has several options available because everyone has different eyes.
  5. Some who weren't candidates in the past are now candidates due to technology advancements.
  6. Dr. Davis also performs ICL and cataract surgery.
  7. Dr. Davis helped develop the technology that is used in LASIK as an electrical engineer in the 1980's
  8. Care Credit is available to patients who qualify with 0% interest
  9. Dr Davis and his staff are kind, and more concerned with the patient and what a great privilege it is to change their life through corrected vision than prices, gimmicks etc. (This was a really big deal for Carrian & Cade in choosing Davis Vision)
  10. Lasik is performed with the intralase laser which means that the surgery is less complicated, lower risk and easier to recover from versus the blade procedure. Plus it only takes 10-15 minutes to do it!

They surgery took maybe 15 minutes (Could you tell he was excited?) recovery is pretty straight forward too: eye drops in every 30 minutes to keep them moist, and 4 times a day his two eye drop prescriptions, and goggles to wear every night.

By the next morning Cade's vision was already at 20/15 (better than 20/20) and it is suppose to get better every day. I loved Carrian's tweet the next morning "'Holy crap!" Is the word of the day. "Holy crap I can see you, holy crap I can read that!"'

Now it's your turn.

This is so awesome! I know Bradford would love to have lasik done and I wish I could win it for him! Too bad we are hundreds of miles away now. Maybe I'll enter anyway and it would be a good excuse to visit? ;)
