I'm never gonna stop the rain by complaining.

Jacket: Larry Levine $20 via eBay
Striped shirt: Old Navy sale $4.50
Skinny Jeans: DC, gift
Rain Boots: Old Navy sale $10
I love that song. I only know the chorus and like half of one of the verses, but does that stop me from singing it at the top of my lungs on days like this? I think not! Come come, you should know me better by now! Our rainy day weather was the perfect day for me to do another Natural Beauty post, as all the wetness made me not want to get dressed at all. In fact, I didn’t even shower. So there. That’s half of the reason why I’m wearing a headband! Aren’t they marvelous?!

By the way, an over sized button up with a belt is the perfect solution if you want something that is comfy, cute, and complimentary for just about everyone, so try it out! Add that to some bright orange lipstick and I was ready for the day! Go on and try it! Embrace your natural look! If anyone is interested in linking up with this cause, check it out here.

I wanted to share this short, but extremely disturbing video with all of you. I’m sure many have already seen it, but I think it’s always important to be reminded what all goes into making what the media puts forth as “ideal” beauty. We actually talked about this issue over and over again in my adolescent development class. Adolescents especially need to understand the value of natural beauty. So let’s spread the word shall we?

Oh anyone could! its like the easiest thing in the world to wear. Seriously took me like five minutes to get dressed! And though I wish I was pregnant, I'm sadly not. Justin and I are still waiting to get preggers someday, but thank you so much for the positive vibes!

so cute.

and naturally beautiful.
agreed; it is so important to model that for younger women and girls, and to be joyful in who we are, not down because of who we aren't.

Love your headband Heather....I really need to get me one for those days that my hair isn't cooperating. I love that video it gives such a great message. My mom always encouraged us to show our natural beauty & we're trying to instill that in my lil sis. Thanks for sharing!

Heck yeah! Growing out a curly pixie, floral rain boots AND a B.J. Thomas fan... I think we might be twins. ;)

Hey Heather!
Thank you for the comment on my photography blog :) I'm about to put up a new post and I hope you stop by and check it out!

I love your fish purse, Steve! I'm definitely a low-budget fashionista, and even if I had money, there is nothing like finding a steal at a second-hand store! I think I'll be this way forever. Thank you also for the kind words about me and my business! I'm really excited about it.

God Bless,
Caryn
p.s. i'm so glad you appreciated that comic! It was so funny I had to share it on the blog :)
