So today is Justin's first day of school for the fall semester, and can I just say, this is the first time in living memory that I have not been going back to school.
I'm seriously having an out-of-body experience. I think I'm in denial.
I love sitting in a class for the first time, going over the course topics. Cracking open a book that still has that new book smell. You know what I mean; the smell of knowledge that only comes from a new textbook, you almost can feel yourself getting smarter just by smelling the thing.
Ok, maybe not. But still.
I love learning. I think I'm going to miss school.

I love the new book smell too! I love it way more than the new car smell- priorities, I guess. :) You know what's funny? I've been out of school for 3 years, and now I'm heading back to grad school (orientation is THIS Thursday). I can't believe it. I'm going to get reacquainted with that new book, fill-me-up-with-knowledge, smell, and I'm all a-jitter with excitement and nerves.

you dont have to go to school...and youre sad??? um im confused! haha i just started school last week...nuf said. but at least im doing concurrent enrollment, so i get some college credit at the same time as high school credit which is awesome! oh and im loving pleats too! i really really really want a pleated skirt! time to go thrifting! haha

I'll never miss school, but I will miss the new textbook smell you refer to. Oh, and the brand-new, freshly-sharpened pencils and, of course, the clean, white notebook pages. Gotta focus on some good, right? P.S. Those pleats are definitely working for you!

and i totally understand what you mean about school. i don't really know what to do with myself now!! (oh yeah, i have a baby... but still!)
